Butterfly Valves

Butterfly valves are quarter-turn valves that regulate or isolate the flow of liquids, gases, and slurries in pipelines. They have a rotating disk ("butterfly") on a shaft that opens and closes by turning 90 degrees. When open, the disk is parallel to the flow, allowing fluid to pass easily; when closed, it is perpendicular, blocking flow.
